Did anyone catch the southern accent play by Hillary Clinton a few months ago down in Alabama? You'd think as much time she spent in Arkansas as the First Lady of the State she would have been able to speak with a southern accent mighty easily, right? She was only playing to the crowd and in my opinion, she botched it worse than John Kerry's infamous joke.
Hillary Clinton brought along her husband, former President, Bill Clinton. The people cheered and gave her the hip-hip-hooray, but who was she fooling? No free thinking person would accept the botched accent as a good thing. I'm from the South and I felt a tad bit offended by it all.
I realize the Democrats have their stars lined up for the upcoming Presidential Election. I'm not impressed with any of the people who are running on either side to tell you the truth quite bluntly. Anyway, this article is about Hillary's lame attempt at a Southern Accent.
People from the South normally have a hard time when they migrate to a new section of the country. We're often times singled out and asked to say things over and over for someone's amusement. Well, it's annoying and rude. I don't go around the country asking people from the Midwest to say oil, or request people from New Jersey to say New York. I don't do it and I feel that Hillary Clinton has put another glass ceiling on Southern Folk.
Southern people stand up for your principles. Be not fooled by someone who spent their entire life in Illinois and migrated to the great state of Arkansas and presided as First Lady for years who then went to the White House and after office ran for Senate in a state she didn't even reside in. The accent was a slap in the face. If she wanted to be Southern, she would have went back to Arkansas. She didn't care about the South after Bill's Presidency, why should she care now? Oh yeah, she's running for President.
Don't be fooled again. Vote Red in '08!
